Damian Barr
Freelance Journalist & Author
Damian Barr, 28, is a writer and journalist. Recently he has convinced Sir Terence
Conran to kiss Philippe Starck’s boot, debated the nature of fiction with Paul Auster and Siri Hustvedt and listened to Jean-Christophe Novelli and Raymond Blanc argue about who is the better lover.
Specialising in lifestyle features and social trends, he regularly writes for The Times, The Independent on Sunday, Harpers & Queen, Quintessentially and Olive. This year he was short listed for a prestigious British Press Award. BBC Radio Four will soon air his first play.
Damian’s book, ‘Get It Together’, made the quarterlife crisis a household term and must-have malaise. Such wide-ranging writing brings him face-to-face with trends and their makers. Back at home in Brighton he brews damson gin, writes in his shed and walks by the sea.
